Have you seen these boxes around town? This is Geneva’s new anti-litter initiative “No Butts Left Behind.” With a generous grant from Keep America Beautiful, the BID is able to collect cigarette butts and send them to Terracycle, who then reuses the materials to create new products like benches, picnic tables and compost bins.

It highlights environmental impacts, stating cigarette butts are the top litter form, with only a third disposed of properly. Includes effects on animals and humans, pollution in Seneca Lake, and a removal and recycling program with Terracycle to enhance cleanliness and tourism.
